Hi, I'm Taylor. Welcome To Tips with Taylor.
I started Tips with Taylor because I kept seeing smart, capable people get filtered out. Not because they lacked talent, but because they were never taught the unwritten rules. The things that are rarely explained, but quietly expected. And for first-gen professionals or anyone navigating spaces that weren't built with them in mind, those gaps can make all the difference. So I built what I wish more of us had access to.... The knowledge no one says out loud.
This isn't about landing a job. It's about building a life you actually want.
Getting the offer is one thing. Knowing who you are, what you stand for, and how to move through spaces that weren't built with you in mind? That's the real work. I wanted to create something that cuts through the corporate gatekeeping and gives you the direct version... The advice I wish someone had pulled me aside and shared when I was starting out.
Think of Tips with Taylor as your older sister who's already in the room, waving you in. Whether you're figuring out how to write a LinkedIn message, how to negotiate your first salary, or just how to trust yourself in environments where you're one of the few. I've got you. No bs, no gatekeeping. Just the real tips.

A few questions, answered honestly.
Soooo you want to know more about me, do ya ;)
How would you describe yourself?
To be honest, I'm just a girl! No, but seriously, I'm a girl from Birmingham, Alabama who is the product of a family that participated in the US Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 60s. From the beginning, my life's mission has been rooted in ensuring that equity is prevalent in all that I do. If I were to describe myself in a few words I would say I'm charismatic, considerate, candid, inquisitive, resilient, and a little goofy :)
Who do you most love helping?
First-gen professionals, students from underrepresented backgrounds, and honestly anyone who's ever felt like they should know what they're doing but don't. The ones who have Googled everything, watched all the videos, taken all the advice… and still feel like something's missing. The ones who are smart, capable, and doing their best to figure it out without a clear blueprint. Tips with Taylor is there to help.
What do you wish someone had told you earlier?
That advocating for yourself isn't arrogant.... It's necessary. The people who seem the most confident aren't less nervous than you; they've just practiced saying the thing anyway. You don't have to wait until you feel ready. You just have to start.
What makes your advice different?
I'm not a career coach with a certification and a 10-step framework. I'm someone who's been in the rooms, made the mistakes, and learned what actually moves the needle vs. what sounds good in a LinkedIn post. My advice is practical, direct, and applicable across multiple industries and backgrounds.
What can people expect when they follow along?
Digestible, relatable, and authentic tips and insights that I've picked up along my journey through my early 20s. While my content may not always be perfect or polished, it's real. And I plan to keep it that way :)
What's a fun fact about you?
I am absolutely OBSESSED with my dog. If you've ever talked to me 1:1, I am 90% sure you've heard me bring up my dog. I mean how can I be at at that little face?!
What do you see as the future for Tips with Taylor?
My vision for Tips with Taylor is for it to grow alongside me. Right now, that looks like early career and navigating your 20s, but over time it will expand into entrepreneurship, lifestyle, and whatever new seasons I step into.
The advice may evolve, but the core won't. It will always be honest, accessible, and rooted in helping people figure things out in real time. Because at its core, Tips with Taylor is about growing through life together, not just one phase of it.
